Is it just me or New York City has lost its edgy charm it had in the 1960s-early 90s?

There is a Starbucks every corner now, once hip and artsy neighborhoods like Chelsea, West Village, hell, even the village from the east are now occupied by yuppies. (Hell! The former CBGB is now a clothing store brand!), Times Square is full of posters for movies from Disney and foot lockers, Applebees, BPA … it is I might as well be in a suburban mall in Ohio freakin! Damn these mayors Republicans! They ruin everything! What happens to the NYC who gave us "Taxi Driver", Nan Godin, Madonna, Grand Master Flash, Blondie, and Stonewall?

NYC is dead. You may also well go to Toronto. He has no soul left in New York. It is a paradise for companies in the Midwest and South who want to "do" New York and is the playground for the Euro and waste in Asia. You can thank Giuliani and Bloomberg for that.
